How we estimate your percentile
JEE Main doesn't give you a rank out of everyone directly. NTA calculates a percentile for your shift: the percentage of students in your shift who scored equal to or less than you. That's why 150 marks can mean 99.2 percentile in one shift and 98.6 in another.
This predictor uses the marks-vs-percentile pattern from the 2025 and 2026 sessions, then adjusts for how hard your shift felt. The middle number is our best guess. The range shows what the same marks would give in an easy shift and a tough one.

About 85 marks in an average shift is enough for the General category JEE Advanced cutoff (93.41 percentile in 2026). For a top NIT in a popular branch, students usually aim for 99+ percentile.

What the exam looks like in 2027
- 75 questions: 25 each in Physics, Chemistry and Maths (20 MCQs + 5 numerical in each subject). All are compulsory.
- +4 for a correct answer, −1 for a wrong one, 0 if you leave it. Negative marking applies to numerical questions too.
- 300 marks in total, 3 hours. Session 1 is from 20 to 28 January 2027; Session 2 from 2 to 7 April 2027.
- If you take both sessions, your better percentile is used for your rank.
Questions students ask
What percentile will I get with 100 marks in JEE Main?
In an average shift, 100 marks is around 95.7 percentile, which is a rank near 66,154. In a tough shift it can be closer to 96.7.
How many marks do I need for 99 percentile in JEE Main?
About 149 marks in an average shift. In an easier shift you may need 10 to 20 more marks.
Is the JEE Main percentile the same as percentage?
No. Percentage is your marks out of 300. Percentile tells you what share of students in your shift scored the same or less than you. 95 percentile means you beat 95% of your shift.
Why do different websites show different percentiles for the same marks?
Every shift has a different difficulty, so there's no single correct number until NTA publishes results. Good predictors show a range. Ours shows the easy-shift and tough-shift estimate next to the best guess.
Can I get 100 percentile without 300 marks?
Yes. 100 percentile goes to the top scorer of each shift. In tough shifts, students have got 100 percentile with less than 300 marks.
