Why time per question matters more than total time
Most students don't run out of time because they're slow everywhere. They run out because three or four questions eat 8–10 minutes each. This timer logs every question so you can see exactly where that happened.
- JEE Main: 75 questions in 180 minutes is 2 min 24 sec per question. Many toppers do Chemistry first in about 40 minutes to bank time for Maths.
- NEET: 180 questions in 180 minutes is exactly 1 minute each. Biology can go faster (40–45 sec), leaving time for Physics numericals.
How to run a proper mock at home
- Sit at the same time as your exam shift (9 AM or 3 PM for JEE, 2 PM for NEET).
- Keep only a pen, rough sheets and water. Phone on the table, screen up, running this timer.
- Tap Next question after each question and Skip when you decide to come back later.
- At the end, check your five slowest questions. Ask: should I have skipped this on the first pass?
The screen stays awake during the test on supported phones. Nothing you do here is uploaded; it all stays on your device.
Questions students ask
How much time should I spend per question in JEE Main?
About 2 minutes 24 seconds on average. Spend less on easy Chemistry questions and more on Maths.
How much time per question in NEET?
One minute on average: 180 questions in 180 minutes. Aim for 45 seconds in Biology so Physics gets more time.
