How we estimate your JEE Advanced rank
JEE Advanced ranks come straight from total marks; there's no percentile or normalisation. In 2026, 1,79,694 students wrote both papers, 56,880 made a rank list, and the topper scored 330 out of 360. We use the 2024–2026 marks-vs-rank pattern, centred on 2026.
This is your CRL rank. Category rank lists (OBC-NCL, EWS, SC, ST, PwD) are separate and your category rank will be much lower. JoSAA uses your category rank for reserved seats.

You must clear both the total and every subject. 120 marks with 6 in Chemistry gets no General rank.
Exam pattern
- Two compulsory 3-hour papers on the same day, each worth 180 marks.
- Physics, Chemistry and Maths in both papers, 120 marks per subject in total.
- Question types and marking change every year. Some carry negative marks, some partial marks.

How many students get an IIT seat?
About 18,000 IIT seats were on offer in recent JoSAA rounds, so General students usually need a CRL rank within about 12,000 for a seat.
